Research object

System engineering takes complex large-scale systems as the research object, which was first proposed and applied by Bell Telephone Company in the 1940s. The development of some large-scale engineering projects and military equipment systems in the United States in the 1950s fully demonstrated its effectiveness in solving complex large-scale engineering problems. Subsequently, the missile development in the United States and the Apollo moon landing program have been rapidly developed. In the 1960s, my country also began to apply systems engineering technology in the process of missile development. In the 1970s and 1980s, systems engineering technology began to penetrate into various fields such as society, economy, and nature, and gradually decomposed into engineering system engineering, enterprise system engineering, economic system engineering, regional planning system engineering, environmental ecosystem engineering, energy system engineering, and water system engineering. Resource system engineering, agricultural system engineering, population system engineering, etc. have become an effective technical means for studying complex systems.

Application

The application of system engineering is very extensive, mainly including:

(1) Engineering system: study the planning, design, manufacturing and operation of large-scale engineering projects .

(2) Social system: Study the operation and management of the entire country and social system.

(3) Economic system: study macroeconomic development strategy, economic target system, macroeconomic policy, and enter input-output analysis, etc.

(4) Agricultural system: study agricultural development strategy, agricultural structure, comprehensive agricultural planning, etc.

(5) Enterprise system: study industrial structure, market forecast, new product development, production management system, total quality management system, etc.
