Introduction

All routers are equipped with a console port, allowing users or administrators to communicate with the router through the terminal to complete the router configuration. This port provides an EIA/TIA-232 asynchronous serial interface for configuring the router locally (the first configuration must be done through the console port).

Function

Console port is directly connected to the computer serial port with a dedicated connection for configuration, and the router is configured locally using a terminal emulation program (such as "Hyper Terminal" under Windows). Most of the console ports of routers are RJ-45 ports.

In addition to the "Console" port used to configure the router locally, the other is the "AUX" port used for remote configuration. When you need to configure the router through remote access, you need to The AUX port was used. The appearance of the AUX interface is actually the same as the RJ-45 structure described above, except that the corresponding circuits inside are different, and the functions implemented are also different. According to the different port conditions used by the Modem, the choice of RJ-45 to DB9 or RJ-45 to DB25 transceivers must be used to determine the connection to the Modem through the AUX port.
