Massachusetts
Before colonization, a small number of Indians lived in the Bayshore of Massachusetts.
In 1524, the Italian Verrazano entered this bay for an expedition.
In December 1620, the first group of Puritans from Europe sailed into Plymouth Harbor from the Netherlands on a "Mayflower" sailboat.
At the end of November 1621, thanksgiving was held. This is the origin of the American "Thanksgiving Day" which is usually the last Thursday in November.
After 1730, there were many small towns on the coast of Massachusetts, and Boston has become a major port.
In 1773, the Boston "Tea Party" threw hundreds of boxes of tea from the British East India Company ship into the sea to protest against the heavy taxes imposed by the British on the local tea merchants, which caused conflict.
In early 1775, the American militia stocked a large number of military weapons and munitions in Concord. On April 19, the British commander of Massachusetts and the commander of Boston sent a team of infantry to search the American militia arsenal. Unexpectedly, the news leaked. When British troops arrived in the suburbs of Lexington, American revolutionaries shot. The U.S. army retreated at the expense of eight men, and the British army continued to advance westward and attacked Concord. Encountered tough resistance, the British army killed 200 people and had to retreat to Boston, where they were intercepted by militiamen along the way. The British forces withdrew from Boston the following year.
Joined the Union in 1788 and was one of the first 13 states when the United States became independent.
