Impregnatedpaper,windingpaper,andcapacitorpaperaremadeofcorkwoodfromthepinefirfamily,withhighcellulosecontentandlongfibers.Thesepapersmadeofwoodcelluloseasthemaincomponentarecharacterizedbygoodimpregnation,hightearresistance,andthedielectricpropertiesofadipolemedium,buttheyhavepoorheatresistance.Thebreakdownstrength,dielectricconstantanddielectriclossofpaperallincreasewiththeincreaseofpaperdensity.Capacitorpaperrequireslowdielectriclossathightemperatures.Deionizedwatermustbeusedtofullywashawaysodiumandpotassiumionsinthepulpduringtheentirepapermakingprocess.Inordertoobtainhigherdielectricconstantandbreakdownstrength,capacitorpaperisverythin(suchas10microns),andthedensityisrelativelylarge(suchas1g/cm3).High-voltagecablepaperrequireslowdielectricconstantandlowdielectricloss.Inadditiontowashingthepaperwithdeionizedwater,thelogsmustbeselectedandthesodiumionsremovedbyelectrodialysisinthepapermakingprocess.Inordertoimprovecertainpropertiesoffiberpaper,thepulpcanbechemicallytreatedinthepapermakingprocesstochangeitsstructuretomakemodifiedpaper.Forexample,treatingsulphatepulpwithacrylonitrileliquidtocyanoethylatethehydroxylgroupsincellulosemacromoleculestoobtaincyanoethylatedpaperwitharelativedielectricconstantof15.5andhighheatresistance;glacialaceticacidisusedOraceticanhydridetreatssulphatepulptoacetylatecellulosetomakeacetylatedpaper,whichcanimprovethermalstabilityandreducehygroscopicity.Ifthepulpisnotchemicallytreated,butamineadditivesaredirectlyaddedtothepulp,amine-addedpapercanbeproducedwithgreatlyimprovedthermalstability(buttgδisalsogreater).

Theperformanceofsyntheticfiberpaperismainlydeterminedbytheperformanceofthefiberused.Forexample,thedielectricconstantanddielectriclossofpolypropyleneorpolyphenyleneetherpaperareverysmall,anditissuitableforinsulationofultra-highvoltagecablesabove500kV.Aramidpaper(Nom-expaper)haslowdielectricconstantanddielectricloss,hightemperatureresistance(breakdownstrengthat225°Cisabout95%ofthevalueatroomtemperature),moistureresistance,andsufficientheat-resistantoxygenAgingstability,flameretardancyandarcextinguishing,canbeusedasF~Hclassslotinsulationofmotors.Aramidpaperhasgoodcompatibilitywithmanyresins,andissuitableformanufacturingcrimped,wrinkledorstampedinsulatingparts,thermoformingwedgesandsoftlaminates,ormanufacturingviscousheatsealsandcoveringtapes.Thepolyaramidmicapapermadebymixingandbeatingpolyaramidfixed-lengthfibers,fibridsandpowdermicahashighcoronaresistance,breakdownstrength,thermalstability,arcresistance,andcreepageresistance.,Mechanicalstrength,uniformityanddimensionalstability,suitableforwrappinginsulation,slotinsulation,interlayerinsulation,intervalinsulation,V-ring,transformerinsulationandfireinsulationofvarioushigh-voltagemotorwiresandcoils.
