Introduction

Publiccloud(publiccloud)storageservicesareusuallysuitableforunstructureddatathatisnoteasytochangecontinuously.Thisarchitectureusuallyincludescheapstoragenodesattachedtocommoditydrives.DataisstoredinmultiplenodesforredundancyandisaccessedthroughInternetprotocols,generallyrepresentationalstatetransfer(REST).

Privatecloud(privatecloud)storageservicesaremoresuitableforcommonlyuseddataanddataforwhichenterprisesneedmorecontrol.Storageislocatedinadedicatedstructureinthedatacenter,whichhelpsensuresafetyandperformance.

Someenterpriseuserschoosethehybridcloudstoragemodel,usingpubliccloudproviderstostoreunstructureddata,butuseprivatecloudproviderstostorecommonlyusedandstructureddata.

• Cantheproviderhandlelargefluctuationsinresourcerequirements?

• Doestheproviderprovidebothpublicandprivateclouds?Thismaybeimportantifyouwanttomigratedatafromoneservicetoanotherinthefuture.
